Uniforms

Key Elementary School will follow the district-wide student code for Tulsa Public Schools established by the Board of Education. Tulsa Public Schools has adopted a mandatory uniform policy. You may view the full student dress code requirements on the TPS website at www.tulsaschools.org.

School uniform colors: Red, White, Navy Blue, Royal Blue, or Baby Blue

• Shirts: Polo-style shirts must be in solid school colors: red, white, navy, royal blue, or baby blue. Shirts must be tucked in at all times (except for PreK and Kindergarten). Solid-color crewneck T-shirts are also acceptable. See-through shirts are not permitted. No tank tops, crop tops, or revealing clothing. In general, shirts should have sleeves.
• Spiritwear: Key spirit shirts may be worn at any time.
• Sweatshirts: Must be solid red, white, navy, royal blue, baby blue, or Key spiritwear. No logos or patterns will be permitted. No hoodies.
• Pants/Shorts: Must be khaki, tan, navy, or black. Blue denim (jeans) pants are acceptable. No rips, tears, or holes. Gym shorts are not allowed under pants or shorts. No pajama bottoms, leggings, cutoffs, or athletic wear may be worn as pants. Shorts must reach the knee or the tips of student’s fingers. Pants or shorts must fit the student with no sagging. 
• Skirts: Must be khaki, tan, navy, or black. Girls may wear jumpers and skirts, but they must reach the knee or the tips of student’s fingers.
• Coats/Jackets: Must be kept in the student’s locker. Anything with a hood must be kept in the student’s locker; hoodies will not be allowed in class. Blankets may not be worn as coats. 
• Shoes: Students should wear closed-toe shoes with a back. No flip-flops, clogs, slide sandals, slippers/house shoes, shoes with wheels (wheelies or similar), or Crocs. Students shall wear footwear for protection and hygienic reasons while on school grounds.

Other General Rules about Student Dress:

• No excessively large or baggy clothes. No pants with cargo pockets.
• No caps, hats, bandanas, sweatbands, or similar head coverings. (This does not apply to religious dress such as a headscarf.)
• No sunglasses (unless prescribed by a physician).
