Before- and After- Learning Care enrollment opens Monday, July 12

Before- and After-Learning Care enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year will open from Monday, July 12 - Monday, July 26. All elementary schools in the district will offer this service free of charge in the coming year. Learn more at www.tulsaschools.org/BALcare.

What is Before- and After- Learning Care?

  • High quality care for students Monday - Friday
    • Before-Learning Care begins at 7am*
    • After-Learning Care until 6pm
  • Support with homework assignments and activities that reinforce school-day learning
  • Free of charge to all Tulsa Public Schools elementary school families
  • Activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development

*Before-Learning Care at Eisenhower and Zarrow only

 Students must attend the program at their school of enrollment. Families can enroll their children by logging into SmartChoice at enroll.tulsaschools.org. The deadline to enroll is Monday, July 26. Space is limited.

Families at the following schools will not use SmartChoice to enroll and will receive information directly from their child’s school: Eugene Field, John Hope Franklin, Kendall-Whittier, MacArthur, McClure, and Walt Whitman elementaries; Unity Learning Academy; and Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy.

 Early Childhood family block parties

We are hosting Early Childhood block parties for families interested in enrolling their child in pre-K or kindergarten! In addition to enrollment support, we will provide fun activities, free food, prize drawings, and a community resource fair. Join us this Saturday, July 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at John Hope Franklin Elementary School (5402 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.), or at one of our other July block parties:

  • Marshall Elementary School, 1142 E. 56th St.
    • Saturday, July 17, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Robertson Elementary School, 2721 W. 50th St.
    •  Saturday, July 31, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Free Wednesday meals for adults and families

We have partnered with the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma to provide free meals for adults and families on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all Summer Cafe grab-and-go service sites. Families do not need to provide any type of documentation to receive a meal during this time.

*TIME CHANGED* Tulsa Public Schools Night with FC Tulsa

Don’t miss a chance to watch Tulsa’s professional soccer team take on one of their top rivals while supporting Tulsa Public Schools! FC Tulsa will host a Tulsa Public Schools Night as they play Louisville City FC on Saturday, July 10 at 3 p.m. at ONEOK Field, with postgame fireworks after the match. You can purchase mobile tickets for the game online now. Tickets start at $8, and FC Tulsa is donating $2 from each ticket purchase right back to Tulsa Public Schools!
