Key Elementary Interim Principal Allison Geary
Dear Key Parents and Families,
I am thrilled to be writing to you today to introduce myself as the new interim principal of Key Elementary School! Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to learn a great deal about the Key school community, and I could not be more excited to join you. It is my great honor and privilege to become the leader of such a well-established learning community.
I come to Key from Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy, where I served as assistant principal. It was there that I saw the incredible impact of the arts on children’s learning. Prior to serving at Tisdale, I was the assistant principal at Kerr Elementary. Before becoming a Tulsa Public Schools leader, I worked in a Memorial neighborhood close to you. I began my public teaching career in 2013 at nearby Salk Elementary as the reading specialist. It was my great joy at Salk to help students become stronger and more enthusiastic readers and writers.
I am very proud to be a product of Tulsa Public Schools. In fact, the first school I worked at was the very school that I walked into as a kindergartener. My two children are Tulsa Public Schools alumni, as were my mother and grandmother (who graduated in the 1920s from Tulsa High School, now known Central High School). Tulsa Public Schools is in my DNA! I have spent my entire career at the elementary level. I have a deep love and respect for young children and am committed to see that every student has the opportunity not only to learn but also to do so joyfully.
In the coming weeks, I plan to provide opportunities to get acquainted with you and interact with the students, teachers, staff, and partners who make up the Key community. Please be on the look-out for scheduled meet-and-greets, but also know that I would love to hear from you any time. Feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com. I look forward to partnering with you in service to your child’s education.
