Fifth and sixth grade students lead the Safety Patrol at Key Elementary. These student leaders report to their assigned posts each day of school to help maintain a safe environment for others.
Safety Patrol members must be available to report for duty at 7:20 a.m. till 8 a.m. as needed, and/or remain after school until the last bus leaves at approximately 3:10 p.m. Daily transportation to and from school for each Safety Patrol member is the responsibility of the parents. We will rotate positions often, so patrol members will get to serve in many areas/locations.
Applications for participation in the Safety Patrol may be picked up from sponsor Ms. Carolyn Neely. Patrol members are expected to maintain the following Key Attitudes:
- Character - Positive and respectful attitude toward serving fellow students and teachers
- Attendance - Regular attendance at school with no excessive tardiness
- Academics - An average of "C" or above in each subject
- Leadership - Personal responsibility for fulfilling job requirements
It is an honor to be selected to serve Key Elementary through the Safety Patrol, and participation must be a commitment from both students and parents.
